Introducing Urethra diseases
" Introducing Urethra diseases"
Initially, tips will be given to get acquainted with the urethral Structure,
Anatomy or structure:
The male urethra has a tubular structure of about 18 cm that starts from the bladder, passes through the pelvic floor and the septum through the penis and ends at the tip of the penis.
The length of the urethra in men varies by age and by person. In women, the length of the urethra is 3-4 cm.
The urethra is a pathway to the urinary output of the bladder, as well as the withdrawal of semen in men that contains sperm. The male urethra can be divided into the following parts based on the anatomical location.
The men's urethra is divided into two sections: proximal and distal. The proximal urethra starts from the bladder neck and continues to outer sphincter and can be divided into two sections of the prostatic urethra and the sphincter urethra(membranous).
The distal urethra starts from the external urethral sphincter and continues to the tip of the urethra at the tip of the penis, and is divided into 3 sections of the urethra of the bulbar and the penile and the meatus.
- The first part of the duct: prostatic urethra
This part starts from the bladder and passes through the prostate, and is 3 cm long, but shorter in children and longer in those with a large prostate. The two sides of the urethra give the hole to the seminal vesicles for the removal of the sperm.
- Second part of the urethra: the sphincter urethra (membranous)
It is about 1.5 cm long and is between the prostatic and bulbar urethra and at the beginning of the perineum. A sphincter that prevents urinary incontinence is located around the area of the urethra.
- The third part of the urethra: bulbar urethra
The bulbar urethra is located between the sphincter and penile and is located in the perineum and under the scrotom until the beginning of the penis and is about 4-3 cm in length.
- Part IV urethra: penile urethra
After the Bulbar urethra, the penile urethra starts from the site of the penis that begins scrotom and increase in length during the erection, and is about 12 to 8 Cm in length
- meatus
At the tip of the penis, it is located at glans is looser than the penile urethra. The length of this part is 1 cm.
